Dr Melissa Thome

Dr. Melissa Thome grew up in Devon, Alberta. She completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at Pacific University College of Optometry in 2009 and received the Dean's Award upon graduation for academic excellence and commitment to fulfill the university mission. It is here that she met her husband, Dr. Bryan Thome. Following graduation, they moved to Penticton B.C and practiced there together for 5 years.

In 2014 they had the opportunity to join the Airdrie and Innisfail Eyecare teams. They are very happy to be part of a large multi clinic practice that provides full scope optometric care and to be back home near family and friends. Dr. Thome has a special interest in Primary Care Optometry with focus on pediatric, trauma, and ocular disease. She is also one of the original coordinators of 100 Women Who Care Airdrie, an organization dedicated to raising funds for local charities and nonprofits. Outside of work, Dr. Thome enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons and two dogs.
